SUMMARY:Dermatology for the Disinterested
DESCRIPTION:IMPROVING SKILLS IN DERMATOLOGY THROUGH EDUCATION & TRAINING  \n\n\n\nAccording to the RCGP skin conditions are the most common reason for patients to present in primary care\, and around one in four patients visit their GP with skin problems each year! However unfair you feel this might be\, you need to be able to think coherently about not only potentially making a diagnosis\, but some sensible treatment strategies after that.  \n\n\n\nThis NEW course\, which has been designed by the Primary Care Dermatology Society (PCDS)\, is aimed at anyone working in primary care who recognises the need to know some dermatology\, but frankly just isn’t particularly keen on it!

SUMMARY:Rapid Diagnostic Clinics: a precision pathway for assessment of vague symptoms and GP gut instinct
DESCRIPTION:Rapid Diagnosis Clinics were established to provide a route for referral and assessment of patients in which there is a clinical suspicion of serious underlying pathology (particularly but not exclusively cancer)\, but where there is not an established clinical referral pathway. \n\n\n\nThese clinics have been set up across BCUHB\, and are jointly run by GPs and secondary care physicians. They have already proven their value and provide immediate access to clinical diagnostics and opinion for the primary care teams across the region. \n\n\n\nAttendees will be encouraged to ask questions and\, uniquely\, be given insight into the workings of the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) behind the RDCs. The event will be delivered by an MDT of experienced professionals and offer first-hand insights into service delivery\, clinical pathways\, and the practical impact of the RDC model in North Wales. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWho Should Attend? \n\n\n\nThis event has been designed for GPs\, GP practice managers\, primary care professionals\, secondary care colleagues\, clinical support staff\, Advance Clinical Practitioners\, and those with an interest in innovative diagnostic services. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSpeakers \n\n\n\n\nDr Nia Jones – Dean of Medicine\, North Wales Medical School and GP Locum (BCUHB) \n\n\n\nDr Dan Menzies – Respiratory Consultant (BCUHB)\n\n\n\nDr Ed Favill – Radiology Consultant (BCUHB)\n\n\n\nDr Phil Travis – Radiologist Consultant (BCUHB)\n\n\n\nNicky Grayston – Clinical Nurse Specialist (BCUHB)\n\n\n\nEmma Steel – RDC Coordination Manager (BCUHB)\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nBuffet\, Networking & Exhibition from 6.30pm \n\n\n\nMeeting starts at 7.30pm- 9pm
