DESCRIPTION:Faculty of Sexual & Reproductive Healthcare Essentials of Menopause Care course\, real life experiences and a local focus on the Menopause. \n  \nAre you a healthcare professional working with women during perimenopause and menopause? \n  \nThen our Essentials of Menopause Care course is designed for you. \n  \nThe Essentials of Menopause Care course is aimed specifically at those providing Menopause Care in primary care settings. It provides an interactive learning experience with scenario-based learning\, quizzes\, presentations\, time for discussion and questions. \nThis course is relevant for Menopause Care providers needing an introduction and provides a useful update for more experienced staff. \nEssentials of Menopause Care is not a competency-based course\, and it is not assessed. \n  \nAt the end of the course\, you will be able to: \n  \n\nAssess women presenting with perimenopausal/menopausal symptoms\nOutline the non-hormonal management options for these symptoms\nExplain the risks and benefits of HRT\nExplain how to use the different HRT preparations that are available\nExplain the management of genitourinary syndrome of the menopause\nDiscuss the contraceptive needs of perimenopausal women and how these can be met\nDescribe the needs of women who have had premature ovarian failure\n\n  \nThe course will be delivered by Dr Nicola Mullin\, Consultant in Sexual and Reproductive Health\, Axess. Knowsley Sexual Health (part of Axess Liverpool). \nDr Mullin is an experienced consultant and Faculty Registered Trainer.
